I'm Addi Markham, a 21 y/o portrait senior and lifestyle photographer based in the magical beauty of the Keweenaw Peninsula in Upper Michigan.
I originally started my photography journey not too long after the birth of my pre-mature son. You know the phrase "time flies in a blink of an eye"? Well - oh boy, how true it is. Fully realizing that now, my NICU Baby is almost a three year old little man.
In general life ( with or with out kids) I'm sure we're always like "I can't wait for___". The "I can't wait to start college", "can't wait for the kids to start school" and on and on. We can always wish for something to happen in the future but we can't ever go back. Can't rewind the clock of life and do something you hadn't done previously.
Everyone's on their own path of life. Their own experiences. Their own ups and downs. Their own emotions. This is why I photograph; To capture your authentic self today, for you to re-live in the future.

To be fully transparent, I'm not a "few snaps here, we're good" type of girl. If you're someone who only wants a few minutes in front of the lens and want "one or two pictures" - I am not the right photographer for you! Let me repeat that ... Not for YOU.
You might be asking; why on earth am I telling possible clients that I'm not the right fit for the job? Because I can and I am.
Photography is not just "clicking the button". At least not to me. I'm simply not showing up to a certain location, holding the camera up, telling you to say cheese and pressing a button one time. Photography is a PROCESS and EXPERIENCE that should make the photographer and client FEEL. Capturing the raw and purest moments in life. Whether it's showcasing your accomplishment of graduating high school, going to college or going into the workforce. Showing your unending love with your partner or family. Or perhaps remembering every single detail in a child's milestone pictures. Whatever it is, whenever it is - I am capturing YOU in the PRESENT. Let's not just hold onto a memory.
